I don't know what compound henna is, but I can tell you about both those brands.
Rainbow flat out lies on their label. They claim 100% pure henna, but of course it can't be because they offer so many different colors. I used to use them, and I got great color every time, but I refuse to use them now because I don't know what's in the stuff.
Light Mountain sells herbal blends of henna and indigo, cassia, and other stuff. They are excellent with their labeling, telling you both the common and Latin name of everything in it. Unfortunately, their quality is awful. I know of exactly one person who has gotten any results at all, and several who have gotten one-day color, or no color at all.
You're far better off to order the plain ingredients from a reputable seller and make your own. You will get better, longer-lasting results, and you won't have to wonder what's soaking into your body. _________________ Lauren
