that is truly fascinating, as are the gazillion comments below. Also funny timing, as I've been obsessed with hair extensions lately, and finding various ways to justify them, and now I can say they've been used since 500BC. So there. :) Thanks for the awesome awesome link.

henna is more or less 5500 years old (at least).
