I just joined this forum -- glad to have found it!!
I need advice from all of you about how to proceed when I finally begin to use henna again. I used henna when I was still a redhead and in my 20's, and LOVED the color and feel.
Now, I am a just recently dyed (L'oreal) redhead, but I have naturally gray hair. When the chemical dye is a month old (which is when I will try the henna) I fade to a light red, after having been an auburn color. I have very thin hair now, and am hoping that the henna will help thicken and improve the health of my hair.
I don't know if I should use a product that is specially designed to cover gray hair, or try to match to my somewhat red hair. I'm assuming I should wait a month or so before I try at all. I'm shooting for an auburn color, so I'm not sure what kind of a mix of hennas I should use.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! |

from what i've seen, everyones hair takes the henna differently, so predicting the exact end result is tricky, save the color does seem to darken after the first day or so, just like skin henna. and the more coats, the darker the color, to a degree. if i henna every two weeks my hair gets more and more brown red, where i if i just do it every month or so it stays medium red. it'd be darker i think if i didnt have so much white which stains lighter than the browns as henna's more a top coat stain than anything. _________________ same person, new name :) aka Alysa, Satharielle, Mehndi Mojo
