I have natural strawberry blond hair, but over the past years its becoming dull and more of a strawberry brunette. I've never died my hair before or done any kind of perms or chemical treatments to it. I was just wondering if anyone had advice or knew of any possible out comes.

I've never tried henna but have recently become very intrigued.

Thank you so much!!

absolutely ... give henna a go! And if you want a really nice pop to the color, be sure to use body art quality henna. I find I get much stronger color from BAQ henna (rather than "for hair henna" as that just generally means less fresh but still able to stain hair).

Lucille Ball is reported to have used henna for years... if that gives you any idea.

We love to see photos ... so please share if you will.

If your hair is getting darker with age, you could try mixing your henna with chamomile tea or lemon juice to brighten it up a bit too. Just be careful with the lemon as it can dry some people's hair, but if you follow with a bit of olive oil or a deep condition, it will be fine. Enjoy!

I definately recommend it. Since your hair is pretty light it might look suuper bright orange when you first hop out of the shower but it will most likely dry in a more natural color. I freak out every single time I henna (and I've been using henna for years) because the color looks so carroty at first but by the time it dries, it always looks good.

If you're nervous at all, you could just leave the henna on for a couple of minutes and see how you are feeling about the color.

I think you'll love it :)

I definitely say go for it! I use the same high quality henna for my hair as I use for mehendi, and it works beautifully. I am naturally dark ash blond, but after a few applications of henna my hair is now a vibrant, rich, dark red, with wonderful depth of color and variation in shade that makes it look totally natural. Additionally, henna is a great natural conditioner, so my hair has never been so strong, silky or shiny before. After the first application it was definitely orange but it tamed down after a few days, and now I love the color I get with fresh application, it's less orange and more bright red. This is what it looks like about a week after applying:

Over strawberry blond I bet the red will be even more vibrant.

Hi munroe,

I was wondering if you took the plunge? If so, do you have any pictures? By the sounds of it, your hair color sounds similar to mine, (maybe yours is a bit lighter) and I would love to see the outcome!
